13th Annual Red Cross Heroes Ball to Honor Hurricane Heroes

Our 13th Annual Red Cross Heroes Ball is set for Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

Each year, the Red Cross honors an individual or organization with the Community Impact Award. This year, we are beyond thrilled to honor those who selflessly supported Hurricane Irma 2017the Red Cross during the 2017 hurricane season.

The 2018 Community Impact Award will be presented to humanitarians who supported the Red Cross with time, manpower, and funding during this devastating hurricane season.

The 2017 hurricane season was among the top 10 all-time most active seasons on record. Hurricanes Maria, Harvey, and Irma left millions without food and shelter, displaced from their homes, separated from their families, and in the most devastating of cases, lost their lives. In the face of this great devastation, the Red Cross has been there. Like a hurricane, humanitarians from all over rushed to the affected areas, heading straight into the storm to provide care, shelter, and hope to those affected.

Hurricane Maria 2017The ball is being chaired by Tom Vaccarelli, Vice President of Facilities, Construction and Real Estate at Hartford HealthCare and Red Cross Connecticut Board Member. Resiliency Sponsor for the fifth year is Mohegan Sun. The Ball will be emceed by WTNH News 8. The event promises to be an evening full of fun and inspiration featuring live and silent auction items, fantastic cuisine, and live music.

Tickets and information are available at www.redcross.org/RedCrossBall. We hope to see you there!
